A new sustainable option for enriching
our planet’s seas

In Mexico, we are concerned for some of the oldest ecosystems on the planet—the reefs—since they cover a great part of our oceans. We are in red alert. This is a call for all humanity. Reefs and all its marine life are in danger of extinction. If we don’t act now, the reefs will soon disappear.

PURA VIDA’s proposal is to design and construct an artificial reef system that provides a habitat refuge for a diversity of plants and animals, thereby contributing to the restoration of marine ecosystems.

AZTEC REEFS are the Foundation’s specially designed reef modules. These structures including four legs are proportioned for stability to withstand the pounding of waves. Some are covered by rocks for even stronger resistance.

PURA VIDA seeks support from private institutions, government, business and people all over Latin America who wish to contribute even a grain of sand to save our oceans.
